Look of the Week

i would consider myself to be very habitual. once i start doing something, i usually dont change. so its kind of unusual for me to try different looks, i like to just stick to the same look everyday. i know, i know, boring. but recently i went out on a limb and tried a new look. to many people this would not be exciting, it basically looks the same as the other look i would wear and it is neutral which i know a lot of people think is boring as well, but to me this is like winning the olympics exciting! i really, really love this look, so i wanted to share it with you :)

Photobucket

first, i take"blanc type' (right) and put it all over the lid and then i put "wedge" in the crease

Photobucket

(all of the colors i talk about next are in the "smoke and mirrors" palette from MAC's holiday collection)
next i take "spell no. 9" and put it about the crease color. after that i put "deception" in the very center of the crease for extra depth. and last i put "fire in her eyes" as a highlight under the brow and in the inner corner. i also take "black magique" under my eyes.

then i do winged liner, of course, and white on the water line. for mascara my current favorites are ysl faux cils and covergirl lash blast.

it may not work for everyone, but its very me- neural, audrey hepburn-esque. i absoloutely love it! whats your favorite look right now?

Megan

8 Most Worn Tag

hey guys! so, the 8 most worn tag has been making the rounds on youtube, and i find it quite interesting, so i thought i would do it for you!

most worn shoes- my uggs. boring, i know, but i absoloutely adore them. i have the classic short ones in black and light tan and the classic tall in gray. they are all i wear in the winter!

most worn top- i probably would have to say my white v neck from forever 21. its so comfortable and flattering. i like to wear it with a cute cardi and jeans. i'm very simple :)

most worn bag- probably my vera bradley wristlet in razzberry fizz, i love it a lot.

most worn braclet- my diamond tennis braclet that i got for my 15th birthday. its beautiful and classic, i never take it off!

most worn eyeshadow- uhm, most likely espresso, blanc type, or wedge. (all by mac)

most worn perfume- lately all i've been wearing is versace bright crystal, but overall the one i've worn the most is jessica simpson's fancy (i have reviews on both of these!)

most worn hair product- my straightener, i dont use any products, which is bad, but whatever :)

i tag anyone who reads this!

Product Review: NARS Laguna Bronzer

sephora.com's description of the product: Nars Bronzing Powder is a true brown-based bronzer with a gold shimmer fusion that's excellent for creating or enhancing the look of healthy, glowing, tanned skin.

NARS Laguna Bronzer is $30.00 and you get .28 oz. of product

Photobucket

My Experience: i bought nars laguna quite a while ago and as you can see i have used a good amount of it. i pretty much have only positive things to say about this stuff... it has just the right tone, so it doesnt make you look orange, and it hads perfectly milled golden shimmer that gives you an actual glow rather than making you looks like you have craft glitter piled on your face. i find that it's best applied with a large paddle brush- i.e. the mac 134. on to the negatives... the price is a bit ridiculous and the packaging get dirty easily. i think that those are the two main complaints with all nars products- price and packaging.

My Recomendation: i highly reccomend nars laguna, however if you know of something comprable to it by all means let me know because i could easily let it go for a cheaper alternative.

My Rating: 4.0 out of 5.0

i hope you all enjoy your weekend- i know i will, i've already began mine with movies and hot chocolate!

Product Review: Versace Bright Crystal Perfume

sephora.com's desription of the product: Inspired by a mixture of Donatella Versace's favorite floral fragrances, Bright Crystal is a fresh, sensual blend of refreshing chilled yuzu and pomegranate mingled with soothing blossoms of peony, magnolia, and lotus flower, warmed with notes of musk and amber.

Versace Bright Crystal is $84.00 and you get 3.4 fl. oz. of product

Photobucket

My Experience: i purchased bright crystal recently, as you may of seen in my haul, and made sure to give it a couple of weeks so i could give a full, detailed review. my verdict is that this fragrance is absoloutely fabulous! i have worn it everyday since i got it and now i refuse to ever be without it! scents are a very personal thing, so you may not like it, but i certainly do. describing frangrances isnt exactly my greatest talent, so all i can say about this perfume is that its a floral. the notes are: Iced Accord, Yuzu, Pomegranate, Peony, Magnolia, Lotus Flower, Acajou, Vegetal Amber, Musk. for a more in depth review from people who know what they're actually talking about when it comes to perfume check out this website http://scentaddicts.wordpress.com/2008/07/20/versace-bright-crsytal/

My Recomendation: if you like femine, floral fragrances, you should definitely give this one a chance.

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5.0

i hope that this helped someone out and that you are all having a lovely week!

Megan

Darling Product: Red Lip Stain

the holidays are coming up, which i am beyond excited for, and red lips are definitely a good way to show youre holiday spirit!

Photobucket

The Story Behond The Obsession: i've always hated red lips on me. i feel like it makes my lips look a lot smaller then they are. Russian Red by MAC in particular really is not flattering on me. all of my reds typically just sit unused and lonley in my lip drawer- poor babies. but then i started to try some lipstains and i fell in love! both of the ones in the picture are limited addition MAC lipstains that came out in "A Rose Romance" and i dont think you can get them anymore... :/ sorry.

Why I love It: these two in the picture are my favorites, the top one is the "just a pinch gel blush (its a cheek/lip stain but i typically use it more on my lips) and "secret crush c-thru lip color". they are amazing, and i feel guilty raving about limited addition products, but they really are lovely! they're very sheer (which i like and how i usually wear them) but they're also extemely buildable. i dont feel uncomfortable wearing this out, i've worn it to school and got tons of compliments. another great thing about these is that even though they're read, they look really natural on, and they dont rub off or smundge or get on a glass that you're drinking from or any other awful things that often come with wearing red lipstick.

the bottom line is that red lip stains are amazing and you need to invest in one right now :). lots of love!

Megan
